NMA48是一种特殊的交联剂单体，它具有两个不同的官能团，一个是能够进行加聚反应的乙烯基；另一个是能够进行缩合反应的N－羟甲基。含NMA 的聚合物通过加热或添加酸催化剂即可进行交联反应，不需要另外加入交联剂，便可以得到交联结构的聚合物，只要正确掌握反应条件，利用NMA的特性来进行各种反应，从而制得所希望得高分子聚合物。
